Dance Classes for Children

East Sussex Dance Studios offer dancing classes for children Monday afternoon / evenings  after school. For more information call 07828 131686

Yoga

1-hour sessions every Tuesday morning at 9.00am and Wednesday afternoon at 2pm.

 

Every week a new theme or topic is used to give you a focal point to your Yoga practice.  You can drop in or book a block of sessions as suits you.

Jolly Tots

We are a friendly local group that meet on Wednesday mornings (apart from the third Wednesday of the month) between 9.15-11.15. There are lots of toys for the little ones to play with and plenty of tea and coffee for parents and carers. Feel free to join us and meet some other local parents and grandparents and carers. Mark Cross Book Club - The Bookmarks

We are an informal group of readers who meet on the first Monday of the month, 10 months of the year. We all offer suggestions as to the titles we read and borrow the book sets from Crowborough Library.   Being a local group there is plenty of chat, but we ALWAYS discuss the book, enjoy tea, coffee, biscuits, and wine, and finish the evening with some poetry which individuals bring along to share. Our book for the summer has been John Le Carre’s ‘A Most Wanted Man’. 

Our next meeting is on 6th September at 7.30pm and we ask for a monthly contribution of £3 per person to cover costs.

Women's Institute

We meet every third Thursday at 7.30p.m. We are a small friendly W.I. and have a varied program from The Jewell’s of the Duchess of Windsor to a lady who helped fund a school for African children in Malawi. We always start the New Year each January with a sausage and mash supper.

If you would like to join us you would be made very welcome.  Our next meeting is on Thursday 16th September.

St Mark's Church

 

St Mark's church has a small but steady congregation and offers services throughout the month including a family service on the first Sunday of the month and a communion service with Sunday school club on the second Sunday of the month. Feel free to join us. Contact Nigel 01892 852536

Mark Cross Primary School

Mark Cross Primary school currently use the community centre weekly for assemblies and for additional festivals throughout the year.

Mark Cross Youth Club 

Is a new club which has been well attended prior to stopping for the summer school holidays. We will re-start at the beginning of September. It runs every Friday between 6pm-8pm through the school term. It is open for young people aged between 10 yrs old and 15 yrs old.

 

We have a safe friendly environment, run by volunteers. It is a space for young people to meet up with their friends, make new friends, socialise, or just play - there are board games, outdoor games, tournaments, arts & crafts, table tennis.  There is a tuck shop, and music and Wi-Fi so even a place to finish off homework.

 

We are on the lookout for adults willing to help on occasions for a couple hours once in a while. Also, anyone that would like to offer their skills to the young people and show them a new craft or skill.

Pilates

Every Friday morning at 9:30am and again at 10:45, the class is run by Katya Gleeson.

 

Pilates aims to strengthen and re balance the body enabling it to move efficiently and effortlessly. Perfect for everyone and particularly suitable to anyone recovering from injury. Pilates encourages postural alignment, improves balance, increases flexibility and stability, and leaves you feeling stronger and taller whilst reducing the risk of injury. Don’t be fooled though, Pilates also challenges core strength and ensures you leave class feeling muscles you haven’t met before!
